Six years before World War I when the Middle East’s first oil well in Masjed Soleyman in a place named ‘Maidan-i-Naftun’ in May 1908 pulled out ‘black gold’ from the heart of the earth. William D’Arcy who had been searching for oil for a few years escaped bankruptcy and notified the British government that he alone is not able to extract and use this natural wealth and needs help.
